Brontide (Tanka)

by Baby Rainbow   Jul 13, 2013

Atmosphere changes
as rumbling echoes approach
from the greyest sky.
Angry storm clouds overhead,
their voice ready to be heard.

* brontide = the low rumbling of distant thunder.

This really is a really lovely poem. You describe so well in your poems. I can see clearly the changes in the weather as the clouds grow darker. And maybe even a trickle of rain. I love the words rumbling echo. I can feel and hear what you are saying now. It really does have an echo feel to it as it approches. The grayist skies are the part detail because thats the perfect example to know when thunder is coming over the horizon. The sound is booming but the sight if you can see or hear it is really quite beautiful. I love how you describe the storm clouds as angry. It gives them a much more powerful feel to them. I can see it though like when a person is angry there are a storm of emotion. I love the connection. Again their voice ready to be heard. When they are angry a person's voice tends to to rise. And thunder has a booming effect on you. But with thunder comes rain and after anger sometimez tears fall. I love the title too very unique. 5/5

I agree with MT and WF... This is indeed a very well written piece and says out a lot about the atmospheric thunder. I feel you described the image amazingly...
