Given All.

by Poet on the Piano   Jul 16, 2013

Already over, these vines playing
angry melodies upon my palm.
I twist and turn with them, lips decaying
as I collapse onto ruins without any calm.

Reaching out for a sealed door
that has been deserted for years.
No one will let me leave this war
for in my sight, no light interferes.

Make it quick, take my last gulp of air
before the sun stains this skin.
This coldness is a personal prayer
and it's too late to let go of sin.

When I've torn my soul apart
there is no more clutching day.
A heartbeat unwilling to restart,
no longer will dreams lead me astray.

Wanted to do something different and do rhyming here, so I know it might be a little shaky because I don't normally do it. Was listening to Red's song "Already Over" here, and that was kind of my inspiration. Had heard of this band before but never listened....has tons of emotions.
