When Summer Met Winter (part one)

by WintersAngel   Jul 22, 2013

On a cold bitter night
The summer princess walked alone
She hid in the trees
Begging for light to be shown

A sudden ache in her head
Made her gasp in pain
Just as the sun started to shine
It began to rain

She slid down to the trunk of a tree
Wondering if she'd ever find her way home
When a tall handsome knight
Made himself known

She gasped at his pale complexion
At the blue in his eyes
She'd know that face anywhere
Twas the winter prince in disguise

He approached her calmly
And held out his hand
She smiled and said,
"What a thoughtful man."

He led her through the winter forest
Onto summer land again
Remembering the day
A beautiful friendship began

The prince retreated into the woods
A sullen expression on his face
He scolded himself for showing emotion
He knew it wasn't his place

"Goodbye Winter."
The princess shouted as he began to fade
"Goodbye Summer."
The prince whispered, now afraid

Certainly worth a reread and still as good, time has not faded its natural gravitating effect !
