Well I wasn't expecting to see that painting but then again I hadn't noticed that you posted this in dark poems. I felt more sadness than darkness when reading this piece but maybe I was reading it wrong, I felt a closeness between two people, lovers at first glance but then on seeing the painting...I changed my perception to a mother and child and that bond that is always there...and maybe it was that they were murdered by life.

Whatever the background on the photo, or your interpretation, it is to be said, a remarkable piece of poetry with many angles and images, great language and wording, as usual xx

I honestly don't think this is sad at all. I can see the bit of dark though. But I enjoyed this poem very much because of the wording again. Each stanza holds a story I feel. I think you did a great job including the painting inside the poem and bringing it to life. The imagery is stunning and beautiful. I also loved the two characters and it seems one found the other just at theright time. And now they are two souls who are intertwined. I loved the eending again I think it's the most powerful and the wording is simple but lovely. Great write overall Crystal. You are a beautiful writer :).
