Reconciliation

by Michael D Nalley   Jul 25, 2013

When we take the best from a tragic situation
we can often have a sense of reconciliation
When we can speak without whispering under our breath
the slurs and profiling that many times leads to death

We remember those who died for a cause
To make us free to run from trouble or to pause
To understand where the real problem is at the time
though in the dark our reactions have no reason or rhyme

Whether you kill a mocking bird or a Martin
profiling a stranger is bound to dishearten
the pursuit of justice and liberty for all
Destiny is calling, who will heed to the call?
