Carries throughout my mind

& my knees buckling under me.

More welcoming
The way kindness streams through it.
It's so lovely
Better than the voices inside my head
Or even my own voice.
Your voice
Could lull me to sleep
Can turn my whole day around.
I'd do a million things for you
Just to hear that voice
So I can make it through another day.
It's going to be so hard
Surviving on memories
For the years ahead of me.
I know the pain
Of living without your perfect voice
& the ways it starts to fade from my memory
Leaving me begging for it to come back.
