Around Me

by WintersAngel   Jul 26, 2013

I look up around me
There's leaves rustling in the breeze
Clouds forming pictures in the sky
Squirrels wrestling in the trees

I stare at the birds
That fly without a care
Build nests on a branch
Not really worried about where

I lay on the soft grass
Run it through my fingers
Enjoy the scent of fresh rain
Hearing the buzz of a bee that lingers

This is a great attempt at your first nature poem! The first stanza is my favourite. Because I can imagine I am you and when I look up I see trees swaying and leaves dancing with the wind. Rustling works for sure but dancing might sound better! Maybe thats just me!
I love the clouds in the sky part. Its amazing how much child like wonder we see in nature! Love it. Like I said I imagine I am walking in the woods and am at peace.

I love to watch birds too its amazing how much care they dont have as they fly free. So beautiful and unique in their own way! I think build should be building but again thats just me! Again in this scene I can see birds perched in the trees above and singing happily or building their little homes.

I love laying in the grass staring at nothing yet everything is around me. Again that child like wonder is here or even anyone. I can imagine lying Iin the grass looking at clouds or stars and getting lost!. The rain is great here because the smell is perfect and I can see a rainbow with the sun and the bees echoing their buzz. I love how you make the reader feel at peace 5
