Ghostly Comfort

by Baby Rainbow   Jul 27, 2013

The soul's first kiss
is a memory so soft and sweet
that it remains in the heart forever .
I once met such a beautiful boy and
became exposed to an unexpected love which
took me far away to a land of narnian dreams.

But horror bites like a bee stings the skin,
and I was pierced with grief when my soul mate
was stolen from my arms.
My lonely tears fell, longing for his touch,
but they had to make-do with his ghostly comfort
as they felt his velvet tissue wiping them dry.

Death may have stolen the love of my life
but nothing can ever steal the memories in my heart,
nor erase the warmest feeling of
the soul's first kiss.

This one holds such power to it. Wow.

I love the portrayal here of the memory. It is delicate like a fragile flower. The soul always remembers its first kiss no matter what. I agree that it always remains in your heart and its always a feeling of bliss inside of you. This boy swept you off your feet and its a great feeling when you are floating on cloud nine. When you feel in love there is nothing else that seems to matter.I love this first stanza because of that. The last line means you were In your oen little world.

I love the analogy to a bee sting. Horror can truly bite at any time as can misery. You image sadness so well in your poems and I love how you went from happy to sad just like that. Its truly how quickly it can turn. Even in spirit it proves that he still loves you and everywhereyou turn it feels like he id there. No matter though this pperson will have your heart.

I love the hope in the end because you can feel the love there still. Yes death as stolen him away from you but as you said he's always there watching over you. There is nothing better than this feeling of closeness inside. I love you vague way of writing. It really haunts the readers mind. Again I love the multi elements brought to life here. Love and dark and sadness all written so well by your mind. I hope you keep writing. 5/5

Aww Saff this is so sad...and I expected something darker with those prompts so I was surprised, but pleasantly all the same. You touched me, as if I felt this was personal to you.

I love the way you opened with the scene and then told the story and ending with a lesson to be learnt.
    Very good work girl..

    Hats off to you x

This is personal to me and very true - so when I got the prompts this was exactly what came to my mind to write about.

      Thank you xx
