Pregnancy

My mother"s daughter was a clever girl, but she spoke too much.
felt far too brave, or too beautiful, or too broken on days. and then she didn't speak, didn't speak to anyone at all..

when her tongue gets heavy,
she doesn't make the effort and its nobody's fault, but heavy tongues speak cruel words and she isn't about that life anymore..

She's rarely silent, but when she is
she means it strongly like anger, like faith, like a statement.

..don't force words out of her, when she's listening to her thoughts, she's probably pushing, her mind is on a bed with legs spread wide open.. giving birth to some poems.

don't interrupt labor.

I love how you link giving birth to writing poetry, that's clever, and it was done in a way that wasn't obvious in the first 3 stanza's, I was thinking, about the title, and then when reading I was trying to find the link, while intrigued as we saw snippets of you...

the ending was pretty well thought out, and that last statement was powerful by itself.

Writing can be painful but it is a relief and outpouring of emotion when you finally lay the pen down.

You're writing is always unique and clever...and I'll never tire of your words
