Your Hello Blinks on My Cell Screen

by drratan   Jul 29, 2013

Your 'Hello' blinks on my cell phone
When I feel your presence when I am alone
I become a river with a boat sailing for the ocean
Cadences of bonding suddenly seek expression
Your words haunt me like Sundari trees
Waiting for rains in Sunderban
I record my pangs of sorrow and pain
Borrowing them from a rainbow drenched in rain
Your message was a simple hello, but it brought a monsoon of words
To inundate the valley of your love-lorn heart
And adorn the meadow of your mind
With a plenty of beaming rose buds.
I recall the bright eyes of a poor farmer
Who sees the ripening harvest in a little plot of land
In the monsoon twilight he sowed seeds in mud and sand.
The creepers spread their twigs to reach the azure sky,
When your message beams on my cell phone
And I feel like greeting you with a warm 'Hi
