To Fate I am bound

by Robert   Jul 29, 2013

Looking up I see nothing but blue
A mysterious landscape painted for view
Adding effects from the light of the sun
Blissful it was for the breeze had come

Soft yet cool it swept over me
A feeling so comforting it put me to sleep
Under a tree where tall grass grew
I laid there quietly lost in a snooze

Something abrupt rustled me awake
The sound of sirens rushing away
Screaming could be heard off in the distance
Reality sunk in, and death was instant

People were carried away one after the other
Tear's from loved ones, and other's hurt
I walked through the flames in disbelief
A child was still stuck crying in grief

I moved the debris, and pulled out the child
Held in my arm's time slowed down for awhile
In those moments the colors had slowly changed
From crimson to blue as it began to wane

Then I awoke again to the sky above me
With a sudden coolness from the gentle breeze
The leave's flew off the tree, and drifted to the ground
Siren's could be heard, and to fate I was bound
