A simple prayer on a lonely path ~

Callused and bruised, dazed and confused,
Full of spite, my heart had been used,
This was me, walking alone on the path we all know so well,
But walking alone on life's path I was doomed to fail,
I knew what I wanted and wanted what I knew,
I vowed to get it, no matter what I went through,
So on that lonely path I knelt to pray,
Then I waited for the prayer to be answered someday,
The blessing I had prayed for was really quite simple,
I wanted the love of a woman, with a good heart and cute dimples,
Little did I know the prayer was heard loud and clear,
I looked down the path and watched her come near,
I knew then and there that she was the one,
I knew right then my search was done,
My prayer was answered with the love of my life,
My prayer was answered and now she's my wife.
