Pressure

by Connie Mansfield   Jul 31, 2013

Pressure is like a wave
It always knocks you back
You try to get back up
But it knocks you flat
You try to run away
But the tide will always rise
Covering
Smothering from every side.

The walls are closing in
Closer and Closer
It's getting hard to breath
I'm losing focus
Everyone is laughing
Laughing and pointing
As if I'm the circus freak
And they are the audience.

Like sharks they smell fear
They're closing in
Acting as if breathing's some kind of sin
I'm not a saint
Nor am I a sinner
But I'm not ready to become shark dinner
