In Your Eyes

by Hannah Emellia   Aug 3, 2013

I see an ancient forest
Where strands of sunlight hardly seem
To intervene with shadows
Or intercept your dreams

The solitude is choking
Yet it seems I'm welcome here
Though something in the darkness
Says remember what you fear

Earthy tones of Twilight
Beckon gently for the night
And then your arms are wrapped around me
Making everything alright

I see the barest hint
Of a storm in restless tides
But I see strength and something more
Than sunset in your eyes
