Nightmare to peaceful slumber

Last night I had a dream,
Of darkness, horror and fears.
I woke in the middle of the night-
My face swollen with tears.

I dreamt that you were gone,
Never to return again.
The sun refused to shine,
Through a constant rain.

You said you never wanted to see me,
Or ever hear again from me.
You wanted to carry on-
For me to leave you be.

I look around so hopeless,
As I realise you did leave.
But all the things you said in dream,
I knew I couldn't believe.

I reached down to the floor,
To grab your oversized sweater.
Holding it so close to me,
I fell to peaceful slumber.

I found you again in dream,
Where you held me close and smiled.
You kissed my head and whispered,
"Ill see you in awhile. "
