Plastic Smile

by Jenni Marie   Aug 8, 2013

{I might not win, baby boy.}

See, as much as she wishes to,
mummy can't predict the future,
and although everything she does
is for you, and you only...she can't
determine how others will react.
For daddy has emotional blackmail
down to a tee, and everyone has
become accustomed to mummy's
plastic smile...they think it's real,
you see.

They don't realise she's breaking down
inside, wishing for the day you were
back within her embrace where you
always did belong-and if she could tell
you one secret darling, it would be that
she would do{anything} for you, anything
at all. No matter what it takes; she may
not win, but she will never give up, and
one day you will be back where you belong,
where you have always belonged.

See that yellow brick road, leading Dorothy
home? Mummy has her own yellow brick
road which leads her always to you,
sweetheart. Always, every turn, every
bend, every direction leads back to you
and your beautiful smile and your warm
arms...and you are so young, so innocent, so
blissfully unaware of the circumstances
surrounding you...but when you grow up
baby, never forget this:

{mummy loves you, she always has, and she always will.}

*Baby Rainbow's Challenge

Prompts:

the yellow brick road
Just for you
the fortune teller
emotional blackmail
plastic smile
one more secret
