A Beautiful Lie

by Rusheena   Aug 8, 2013

They all marveled at the carnage,
congratulating themselves
on their sharp tongues
that cut down any shed of innocence left
in their desolate town.
The destruction started with a beautiful lie,
so powerful that it devoured
every vulnerable soul in sight.
No one ever meant for it to go this far,
but there was nothing they could do.
Our fates were sealed,
once we sacrificed our trust to them,
and now, our lips will forever be sealed,
never revealing the secret that
claimed so many lives--
never repenting for our despicable betrayal.

Powerful piece Rusheena. Very strong imagery of the false people and the destruction caused by them. This beautiful lie costed too much!

    Awesomeness!

    Keep writing:)
