All the Glory Or None of the Beauty

by Jaymi Lynn   Aug 13, 2013

I'd soon slumber 'neath stars,
Basking within the ambiance of the moon
'Fore surrendering to treacherous rays of sunlight
That char my bones and leaves me blind.
What am I to do with hollow eyes?

Eyes that have set gaze upon dark skies
Rippling with the clash of Hercules' muscles;
Settling, once more, with beauty that of Andromeda,
But compared not to the eternal flame
Of the everlasting Milky Way.

I've often found myself cowering behind planets
In high hopes to avoid the frightful reign of day,
And so to the comets I clinged;
But to love the immortal outskirts of the Earth
Is to love it's every being....

So how could I ever mask myself from such a thing?

    I am a HUGE lover of astronomy so this poem appealed to me in specific ways. This write is beyond amazing, it humbles you.

    Favorite lines. To me it's speaking of the love of an unfathomably large universe that lies just at the outskirts of our Earth, right at our doorstep. We just have to look out...

    Loved this so much. Favorited.
