A poem like this raises for me a very serious question about ourselves.. " are some things in life so devastating that we never are quite whole again?" We like to think idealistically and say to ourselves,"surely there's a way BACK to my old self, that old feeling again". But in life nothing goes backward does it.. and the way forward seems hard to find. We say,"Something inside us, however bleak our outlook is, tells us that life is still possible, that there is something which will make sense of all this pain" And yet we know so many succumb to what seems to them no other alternative. Are they weak? Well who at times isn't weak? If we are going to criticize another for weakness in the face of great difficulty let us FIRST look to ourselves and ask," What could I have done to help? What could I have done to make a difference in his/her life? Would I have done differently? There is strength in love(and a strength in you WintersAngel) that defies any and every "evil" that comes our way. If not life would have given it up long long ago. We can't do it all alone nor do I think we were meant to. Say yes to your life sweetie. Take a moment and a deep breath and "speak it". In spite all the crap thrown your way speak it, say it audibly and let it be known that here is one who is greater than any hurt cruelty can devise. I believe in you. |
