They Won't Ever Understand

by schmetterling   Aug 14, 2013

It hurts so much
To look around at everyone
& feel completely worthless.
Seeing how happy they are
The way they stand with crowds of people
Envying their happiness.

These plastic people
Who have every perfect feature
& live great lives because of money
Don't know the first thing about pain
Don't understand anything about hardship.

They don't know what it feels like
To hate every inch of your body
To have nothing to look forward to each day
To feel completely alone in a sea of people.

The ignorance they display
Is a clear fact
That they don't understand
They haven't been through what the broken ones have
They haven't felt the deep and horrendous pain that plagues us.

They assume and make guesses
But they have no clue whatsoever
That maybe we find friends in a blade, a lighter, or something else self-destructive
That maybe we hate ourselves so much we would kill our existence
That maybe we were just trying to kill the thoughts inside of us.

We know what it feels like
To get knocked down by everything life throws at us
To feel absolutely nothing, yet everything all at once
To disappoint ourselves and others
To find comfort in the saddest of things
To hate ourselves
To use things that kill us to feel alive.

They will never understand us
They'd have to be placed in our shoes to
To not have money, beauty, or popularity
To not have many friends to count on, or anyone to count on for that matter
Maybe then
They could understand
Maybe then
They wouldn't judge.
