Your thin sheet of glass

by UtterlyAlive   Aug 15, 2013

I tiptoe across the glass,
Watching where I step,
I'm waiting for it to shatter beneath me,
And for everything to come crashing down

You see, this is life,
A thin sheet of glass waiting to break,
And when it does,
Nothing is ever the same

Sometimes it's not even your fault,
Someone else broke it for you,
But you pay the consequences,
And fall down, down, down

People ask if you're ok,
But do they really care?
Because that one time you say you're not,
Everyone seems to disappear

And I promise you this,
The glass WILL break,
No matter how lightly you tread,
Or how slow you go

But some people,
Will be cut by the shards of glass,
Or have a harder landing,
They won't recover as quickly

So don't be so judgemental,
You don't know when you're going to fall,
Don't assume anything about anyone,
Until you know their story

Remarkable words...laid out very nicely...I love the analogy about broken glass...kind of combination of:people who live in glass houses and shouldn't thwrow stones, andbeing careful with the fragilenesss of the human nature for yourself and others...Nicely done
