Night of Rain

I fall upon these bruised, bloodied knees,
In a field desolate and full of pain.
I'd pour out my heart, show you the bad and the good,
If it meant I'd get lost in a night of rain.

Can I show you, darling, the way my eyes ignite into a roaring, angry flame
Whenever I hear their name? Or might I be able to show you
That my heart aches and longs for the love of another, yet it cannot bear to trust?
Or that I wait for the night you finally have had enough, and leave just like they all do.

A night of rain could wash away all my despair,
If you want me to open up my soul, I shall in a heartbeat
I just need to find the words. These chains that hold me down,
They bind me to a dark, undiscovered, unwritten destiny.

Kiss these cold, numb, cracked and blood soaked lips,
My angel. See how I tremble in fear rather than in pain
That you will disappear with one more touch,
And I will forever miss my night of rain.

    Its very interesting how you used the title here. Heres what I think.

    You want to show this person how much you love them but you hurt in the process. You want to show them the good and bad side of you and hope they love you no matter what. You want them to stay and you would do anything to make them do so. Its hard for you to trust anyone including the one you love. You fear they will not love the real you and they will leave no matter what you do. But I love that you put yourself outtthere and make yourself fragile in this poem. You really show what love really does. The dark and light side.

    Again you want to tell this person everything about you and I love how you brought it up. In my mind you want to tell this person you love about the thing that is holding you down. I love how you leave it vague and no one really knows what is holding you down. I like the ending as well. You have fallen in love with this person and you fear or know they will leave you so you try a kiss. But I am thinking they might have already left you and this is goodbye? Its unclear but I love that. You don't really know what will happen. Excellent! ! 5
