Will always seem to
miss the mountains except when
it's time to climb them.

    Hello Larry

I was trawling your wonderful back catalogue
and came across this little gem of a senryu that had gone under the radar.
I am an avid camper and frequently go to Snowdonia; I love the mountains. This, then, had a natural appeal for me, not least because I can relate perfectly!
Whenever I'm packing my rucksack and preparing for the trip, I have wonderful images of streams trickling down the mountainsides, the views from the top once I heroically conquer them and the feeling of strength I will feel when the summit is reached!
Reality: Often cold, wet and tired halfway up and by the time the top is reached, the mist and cloud cover limit any kind of view to about 10 feet!

Take care and all the best,
    Ben
