Goodbyes

by Lovely Kissesz   Aug 19, 2013

You held me in your arms.
Time stood still.
It was enchanting.
Even if it was only for,
A brief amount of time.

My heart sang words.
That of which troubadours hymn,
When sweet love cannot obtain
Such precious words
Of a lovers blissful sigh.

My breath
-My heart-
Became one with you.
And in that moment,
I became uncontrollably yours.

Only a dim light off a radio,
Singing about unrequited love,
Was casting it beautiful caress,
Across your pale moon face.

And I thought...
Did my heart just flutter?
Could I be so lucky,
That you could replace him?

But then you turned away.
Upon that movement,
Along with the chaos of our sheets,
I saw that dark pendulum swing....

I knew I had to go.

Even though my soul panged,
For just one more moment,
One more sweet caress...
Upon your bruised stained lips.

As I got up
Got dressed,
I turned around
To gaze over at you
Across my nude shoulder.

I drank you in...
And smiled that all to familiar smile.

I knew you were not mine
-To keep-
But, oh...
Did I want to disguise you as mine.

Walking away was hard.
But, to keep you would have been harder.

I know my journey is just beginning.
Even if it wasn't with you.
Ill miss you,
My sweet troubadour.

This is truly, a wonderful piece of writing, full of earnest desire and bitter sweet regret.

I'll put this into my favourites, now.
