Sunset races the moon
As tulips and irises seem to float
In the surprise breeze,
Putting a smile on cold,
Blue, lips.
Hearts ache and beckon
To one another and are
Met by soft kisses from tall grass
Wrapping like vines far
Up bare legs.
We laid there for hours,
Pointing at clouds then
Stars; glances leading to blushes
And hands lacing together;
A blessed night.
That day was memorable,
Precious and breathtaking; when
The world disappeared with a promise
As love rained down as if heaven sent;
Romance filling the air.
As I look back now, years later,
My mind can't help but wonder
As you lay beside me sleepily,
If it was as special to you as it was to me;
A silent question.
