Love I Could Not Surrender

by Soulful Ensemble   Aug 28, 2013

I'm on the same street
With the dim lights
Under the darkness
Where I met your eyes.

Remembering scents
From days long gone,
Which years beat down
Into the dark beyond.

We were in love
In a crazy obsession,
Without any control
In one long session.

Why do we still talk,
After our love collapsed?
Love is still there
But our time has lapsed.

We want to hold hands
Because we know we failed.
But new hearts are involved
So our endless love is veiled.

I do want you
And I'm sorry I'm gone.
What do we do now,
When our time is done?

You were the one I dreamt
From early days rendered.
And even now the lover
That I could not surrender.

I should say I love yours very much, too. Especially, "A Timeless Battle".

Thank you for enjoying my poetry JaM. Don't worry, my situation isn't so dire all the time. But I am compelled to write about my feelings. At least you enjoyed them which I appreciate more than I can say.

You write very beautiful and heartfelt saddening poems about love. I am enjoying your writes, particularly the style. I'm very sorry to hear that such is your situation, but I do hope that you find a way to love again and as strongly as you feel about this woman.
