Letter For A Scar - (song with recording)

by Maher   Aug 28, 2013

Hello, do you remember who I am?
I'm the one you used to love so much
The one you couldn't have
Here, here is a picture
Do you recognise my face?
Or does it bring a bitter taste?

Well I'm writing you this letter
While I'm still around today
I hope it makes it to your heart
Before I throw it all away
You see, I've loved you for so long
I thought we'd marry here someday
Dreams of lying in the Autumn leaves
While we kiss the sun away

But I never imagined I could f**k things up so bad
That I could pack away the guilt
And leave you stranded there so sad
And I never could get over how I tore your soul away
How I was numb to all your tears
As you were begging me to stay

So I'm writing you this letter
While I'm still alive today
To say how sorry that I am
For throwing all of it away
And I pray that you'll forgive me
Before I'm lowered to my grave
And I wish that you were closer
So I could say this to your face
Even if we start all over
I know the past can't be erased

I'll still be waiting here for you
Until my breath begins to fade

This brought tears to my eyes. The feeling of loss reaches to the very soul of the reader/listener. A really strong piece full of rich sincere emotion that really grips
