What is?

by UtterlyAlive   Sep 2, 2013

What is love, without hate?
Nonexistent
What is light, without the dark?
Nothing
What is life, without death?
Never ending
What is happiness, without sorrow?
Unknown
What is a friend, without an enemy?
Meaningless
What is a compliment, without an insult?
Unappreciated
What is comfort, without pain?
Unenjoyable
What is good, without evil?
Unrecognizable
What is loyalty, without betrayal? Taken for granted
What is a smile, without a frown?
Inexperienced
What is a good moment, without a bad moment?
Impossible

Ok this is a very interesting poem. This is all very true. None of them can be without the other. I guess opposites do attract. The words you describe after the what if lines are great. I love how they are all kinda the same but all different. I love the deeper meanings inbetween the libes too. You feel like depression is dark and something light can overcome it. I like the ending lines too. There is no good with bad and no dark without light. we do take things for granted though. We don't realize how happy we can be. We take happiness for granted and we don't try to change. We need to feel pain in our past to feel the joy in our future. The life without death lines are my favorite because we fear death and because of that we don't fully live. I love the message because its all true and I hope people will read this. 5/5
