Beware.

When the night goes still

the monsters come out

the darkness swells

as they roam about

they hide in the alleys

and are dark as night

if you happen by them

they'll give you a fright

You'll see them lurking

as midnight draws near

when you're on your own

they'll fill you with fear

The fear of what's coming

the fear of what's not

before you know it

you will be caught

Without a doubt

you will be killed

while the monster's stomach

will be filled

But it won't be fast

no it won't be quick

they won't eat you up

with just one lick

They'll tear you apart

bit by bit

from the inside out

they'll create a pit

a pit of despair

a pit of longing

one with no love

with no belonging

they'll feed your fears

and inspire more

with the monster's help

you will wage war

But not on others

no that's not the way

you'll wage war on yourself

it's you you'll betray

So watch where you're walking

the monsters are there

heed this warning

Beware.
