Goodnight

by Erick Neal   Sep 7, 2013

Loudly the music plays
As he heads down the road.
Soon he will be at her place
In her arms he will be reborn.

The road just keeps winding
And the rain keeps on pouring.
But he doesn't mind it.
He only has her on his mind.

Lightening strikes, he swerves
As the tree comes crashing down.
He tries to gain control
It's too late, the vehicle is pulled.

Gasoline drips from his truck.
Flames from the tree are close.
He is stuck and in so much pain.
Someone stops and pulls him out.

Red and blue lights flashing,
Sirens screaming throughout the town.
The rescue and ambulance arrives.
He slowly drifts in and out.

He awakens and sees her
As the tears run down her face.
She says "Don't you say goodnight to me!"
In her arms he will be reborn.
