What Do You See?

by Eric Chandaragga   Sep 12, 2013

Take a look at me
What do you see?
You probably see an Asian American trying to find where he belongs
You probably see a 23 year old who has yet to live his life
That's just my image at first glance
Look deeper within, the pixels enhanced
The truth is, I'm wise beyond my age
I've got this ambition I promise will amaze
I've got a country heart
And an R&B Soul
I was taught being strong meant never losing self-control
My biggest flaw is that I never give up
Learning to let go is something I must
Plans change it's inevitable
The reasons unexplained is a miracle
Perseverance and Integrity runs deep in my veins
Friends and Family are the ones to keep me sane
I know nothing in life worth having ever comes easy
So I make the best out of any given opportunity
You see the smile on my face
You don't see the pain behind my eyes
But without pain or struggle, you'll never realize
Life is beautiful
Just wait and see
It may take time, but patience is key
I'm not afraid to leave my fate in God's hands
I know happiness awaits in his master plan
What is his plan you may ask?
Maybe, just maybe, it's to make it your own
Take a look at me
Now what do you see?
