Gone In The Night

by Baby Rainbow   Sep 28, 2013

And just like that, he was gone in the night,
leaving empty sheets to lay upon a cold,
abandoned bed. I couldn't ever imagine my life
without him, then suddenly this fear became
alive before me.

My heart felt trapped inside an endless winter
of snowflake tear-drops, and ice cubes as my tissues.
But through my heart's exhaustion, I must have
fallen into a deep sleep that took me straight to him.

(I can see spirits of angels dancing in a peaceful
heaven, as his wings embrace me once again.
His calming voice tells me to dry my eyes
because I am too beautiful to cry these lonely tears.)

My eyes slowly open as I find myself back
in our bed and somehow the sheets don't seem as
cold any more. And upon your pillow lays a note
with the words I needed to hear.

"Life is possible without me, because I am
never truly gone. I am in every blink of your
eyes and in every beat of your heart, so do not
cry your beauty away, for our love will never
be forgotten, and I will never leave your side."

I really admire this inspiring piece that you wrote, the traces of each lines thought to be sad, but the message is very clear, to hope for the better. The statement can be elevated that we are all in the temporal world that is banishing, but beyond that is a life that is eternal. There is a lot of things to learn from this piece, one thing is to keep hoping...good job!

Ugh....Losing people...not a fun experience to go through, I'm afraid of going through that very soon, but this poem leaves some sense of hope...Because it is true...Memory is so amazing, how we can remember a voice, a smell, a hug, everthing about a person like they were still here. :)

This has such a great tone to it. Sad as it may be. The bed is lonely yes I agree but I get a feeling you are more lonely without them. Your nightmares become so real that you can't or dont know how to handle it. I feel like that your main fear has come true. A fear that you are losing the person you love and you again don't know how to feel. I love the winter line as always it seems like depression is inside of you and tears freeze for all too see. The deep sleeo is sad and takes me right to him. Maybe you were dreaming of him everyday or the memories in your heart have come alive.

Oh the real meaning comes out in the third stanza. He has passed away suddenly and that's why the title is called that. Excellent. The imagery is great here. He is now an angel and they dance with you and make you feel warm inside. I love the love you two have for each other. You can tell here as he says you are beautiful and to dry your lonely tears. I like the note kinda sad though as it seems like it could be suicide note or one before he passef away as he knew it was time to say goodbye. The warmth in your heart fills the cold of the bed you did feel.

The last stanza is so very emotional and would bring a tear to anyone's eye. He wants you to live for him as he will always be in your heart. You know he is always watching over you no matter what. You are beautiful inside and out no matter what you do. The love you have is great as it is really eternal. As I said he will always watch over you no matter what. The tone goes from sadness to bliss and relief. There is nothing better than love. Xx.
