Neigh went the duck as he trotted on past,
And ribbit goes the horse as he hops along.
But even so, this hadn't seemed to last.

They all sang their song with a speed that's fast.
The pig started now with a growl, purr, squeak,
While the mouse started prowling for a snack to eat.
The lion ran around with his nose in the air,
Snorting away with mud in his hair.
Slowly but surely things started to go wrong,
Monkeys started slithering, while snakes started blithering.
Wolves started singing, while cats tried swinging.
I paused for a second, for I couldn't understand,
To ask the question to a smart young lad.
"What's the matter with them? What's their reason?"
He replied "Can't you see? It's mating season"
