Whispering Voices of a Mad Man

by Lifesbreath   Oct 7, 2013

All the whispering voices
in my ear, it becomes so
crowed, I can scarcely hear.

While, looking down at my
feet, I shuffle down the street.
The whispering voices speak
incessant things to me.

Should I go to work or do
I go back home?
I'd do anything to get
the whispering voices to
leave me alone!

Come out like a lion or
leave like a chump, but
I'm not the only one that's
going to take these lumps!

The whispering voices persist
I must pick up the pace
because my next misstep
could mean the obliteration
of the human race!

To be honest I dont read many poems on here but the title of this one really ensnared me. I love the story behind it and the flow was great. Well done.

Nice poem, ended a little suddenly though... But it's very good!
