These silent wars that we always fight
Screams so loud they cannot be calmed
Pounding fists and loaded guns
Blackening our hearts with an atom bomb
I push forward while you tug me down
Clawing at what's left of my energy
Greedily consuming every last drop
Until everything I have is spilled before me
I stumble and trip like a drunken sailor
Head dizzying from your poisonous glare
I try to ignore the hopelessness you bring me
But soon I realize that it was always there
