Safely

by WintersAngel   Oct 14, 2013

Purple, black and blue
Those bruises tell your lie
He beats you when you get home
Each and every night

You defend him
And say he's just mad
Don't even bother
To hide that you're sad

I want to help you
Darling, please
Here, take my courage
Pack your bags and leave

Do it for me, if not for yourself
It kills me to see you in that hell
If only you'd allow me
To find someone to tell

It's getting worse
He broke your bones
Darling, I'm here
You'll never be alone

We can be happy
And leave him behind
Just place your hand
Safely in mine

A different point of view for abuse. I like it. You give security for the people who have been in such a situation. Great job and keep on writing.

This is in my opinion your best sad poem. This is a great dedication to show how much you care for this person. The details are very dad though but well written. I think sadly a lot of people can relate to this. It's great you put this on here as it shows again this person you care and all you want them to do is be safe. I love each stanza because they connect so well with each other. I believe each line tells their story and there at the end there is hope. You want to bring bliss this person and their life. Great poem at it shows you care and holds so much sadness and hope.

Take my hand in the night,
Now you don't have to fight.
    Come with me,
And just leave the other world be.

    love it
