Burning Anger

by Michael D Nalley   Oct 18, 2013

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
Into the heart a bullet thrusts
Anger is a grievous and deadly sin
That far too often is waiting within
If it escapes before lessons are learned
Someone in its path is bound to get burned

The title of the work had said it all. I can see anger in every word in the work. I like the rhyming scheme Aa Bb Cc.

I think the shortness of this works well. The rhymes I think also enhance the poem too. Anyway this message is very strong and sad. Not a lot of people talk or write about revenge and that's what I think this is about. We as human beings get very angry easily and in these times the world grows colder sadly. I love the wording you used as well. When we show our hurt we hurt someone else and that is a vicious circle of sadness. This is very powerful and strong as I said and I love how you put your heart into this. You believe what you believe keep penning :)

Burning Anger turned East, some say,
    with turmoil following his way.
    He lite the oil fires,
    and dwelt in quagmires
    til madness took him away.
