THE FORM OF A CLOUD

by rebecca pineda   Oct 18, 2013

The day my dad left this earth
clouds formed pitch black.
moving closer all together
all but one in back.

I squinted my eyes to get a
better look but really couldnt tell.
i thought just then why black clouds
if heavens white does this mean hell.

A cold chill ran down me i noticed my
little hairs .
I looked back up seen a thick mist coming
at me from the air.

That one cloud hidden in back is
closer than before .
infact so close is that my dad
it knocked me to the floor.

Daddy i cried out please
dont leave.
i heard a whisper in my ear
saying mamas im at peace.

I said dont say that for im
feeling weaker from inside.
My body rose he carried me
while telling me its a better life.

He said for me not to worry hes with god
and for me to make things right.
Do for my kids show them the way
and lead them to this life.

I said how if i dont know myself
to do the things hes done.
he said mamas just pray to god
being sincere is he wants.

He said i love you my grandkids
and raul very much.
and if he can he will be looking
down to see whats being done.

He had to go i said wait dont leave
will you ever come back.
he replied how its forbidden
sorry mamas i cant .

I cried in tears as he put me
back down.
i give him a big hug then open
my eyes and no dad just a cloud.

Wow! This reminds me of a night dream. The imagery created here makes this work a nice one. Though sorrowful at last that all is not real.
