Misled

by Forever Hers   Oct 22, 2013

Beads of sweat run one by one
Down a quivering neck,
Her words sparking fires in the depths of
My devastated mind.

Deceit drips from her red lips,
Coating each lie in an acid
That sounds so sweet but is
Horribly lethal.

Dazzling eyes foretell a road on which
She does not accompany me,
Though I feel her breath
On my shoulder, icy like death.

Delicate daggers pierce a battered heart
With each tormenting kiss,
Leading me on only to drag me under
The black tendrils of pain that she fills my lungs with.

Her cold fingers caress the tragic tears
That sweep down my cheek
Proving more and more as she hisses a promise of hurt,
That her love left me misled.
