Misty Rain

by Mahal Ko Kuya Ko   Nov 1, 2013

While the rain
redolent
of coffee
hides the Haikus
bellowing
behind a mist
that smells
like cinnamon,
someone daydreams...

I sketch
loneliness
as if
being sad
is a
lovely thing.

Every morning,
a Misty Rain
wakes me up-
forcing me
to write
evanescent Haikus.
And it's funny
how it always
reminds me
of the
broken compass
I so tried
to repair.

I am an
amateur artist
behind this mist,
a lonely wayfarer
that thinks
his poetry
is like
this rain-
covered with
confusion,
coffee-scented,
and never daydreams.

Eleven times
a day,
the ink
of my pen
betrays me...
(Or is it my hand?
Maybe my heart?)
For I always
find myself
writing about you.

You always
make fairytales
seem grand.
Your footsteps
are where
this broken compass
always leads me.

I hope
this Misty Rain
will not
betray me...
For I
need it
to cover
every of
my desire
to see you
everyday.

One day,
nothing will
suppress us
from sketching
Haikus together.

A Good haiku has a lot of depth. I wish I could write them. I liked that you chose to incorporated a haiku in your poem rather than any other form of poetry.

I also "like" how you use "sketch a haiku together," as a haiku is about painting two images and creating a thought. I see, so your love one likes sketching, and you enjoy writing. It's kind like you two complement each other. 5/5
