Insecurity

First stanza: Insecurity is such a powerful word to begin with. It grabs the reader and makes the reader think of all their personal insecurities and it affects their life and relationships. That type of anxiety can completely control a person.

Being hurt again is a fear of anyone that has been in a past relationship that's been done wrong in some way. They have been damaged emotionally by someone they completely loved and it's hard to move on and trust someone with their heart once more.

Second stanza: The memories of happiness haunt you. You had a wall around your heart, protecting yourself from any damage...and then this person came in and broke down the walls and opened you to a new thing called love, only to completely destroy you along the way.

Third stanza: A very true statement here. Insecurity of being hurt is the same as being without love. You both have that emptiness, that hesitancy to find love, to let someone in.

Ending: Walls are built to keep yourself in and to keep others out.

Insecurity; just another word for

I think Insecurity should be given its own line here..it is your title and your starting word so it is a huge statement...Insecurity!

I think using just straight after makes in acceptable and ..really it shouldn't be..I'd maybe look at this opening again and follow with a question...like ..should it be...?

Reminders that we once felt secure,
but then we were crushed underground
as the walls of our heart came crumbling
down.

Living with insecurity is like living
without love, because our hearts are
always fearful of the damage love can bring.

And so they learn to hide behind the walls
so that love can never get in.

Sorry...I'm just going to skip the rest because..it would probably alter your whole poem if you took my first thoughts on board and..perhaps you don't want to make any changes at all?

First- I really like how you started this poem here. Insecurity is a very strong word. I feel like when you cannot love yourself it's very hard to love another person. I know that we all have baggage but most people are sometimes mean. We never ever want to be hurt at all and it does effect our everyday life. Even waking up is hard to do. When sadness consumes us it does feel like all it does it comforts us. I liked the way you started this too. It holds so much sadness and definitely could be relatable to a lot of people.

Second- I love the way you worded this. Our heart is the first thing that does get affected I agree. We build up walls but sometimes that is not even enough to help us stay strong. The past is a shadow and it waits for us too have a bad day to try and comfort us. Great connection.

Third/end- Again I agree with you it always seems like we live without love. Our hearts hold us back to open up to anyone. We are always scared to get hurt even when we find that one person. Love is the most magical thing we can feel. Also like you said it can hurtso much. I love the way you ended this. You say you hide behind walls bbecause you get hurt. Time does heal and in time you will heal. Great write too. Xx
