I think what the grand master is trying to teach the young grasshopper is that silence speaks far louder than words. You must be patient for if you try to rush through tasks and life, you will only set yourself up for failure. For example, if a cheetah is silent and stalks its prey, it has a greater chance at dinner. If it doesn't focus and is too eager to eat, it will more than likely lose the race.

    Great message!

^^ there was a story that I watched when I was a teenager, about a grasshopper and ants.
While the ants worked hard during the summer, the grasshopper kept singing and enjoying himself. He tried convincing the ants to join him but the ants refused to, so they continued working to prepare for winter.
When winter came the ants rejoiced in their house, and they had plenty of food to feed from as well as to survive the cold temperatures of the season, while the grasshopper almost got frozen to dead.

The ants saw him outside, freezing in a tree and invited him to their home. That's how the grasshopper learnt his lesson.

That's what your haiku reminded me of.
