This is wonderful. I think everyone goes through somesort of shift like this in life. But I like this. RReally I do.

There are friends with whom we can just talk and talk and never stop. The topic is unimportant, it can just go on and on, it can be nonsensical yet make perfect sense.. Though it's sad when at some point the communication stops. Specially, if it was because someone got better at doing something or because that someone moved to other place and no longer knows what to talk about, perhaps fear that the other one may not understand what he/she is talking about? hmm I think I'm deviating from the poem.

But it's good.

I also liked what you did with "don't think words are the only tornadoes this town has coming" it has this punchy tone.
