Pushed Away

by Forever Hers   Nov 17, 2013

The feelings trample over each other
As they register in my mind
And flow down to a rapidly beating,
Anxious, confused heart.
I take a step back
But hands still push against my chest,
Making me back farther away,
Making it so I can no longer reach
Out to touch when that is all I am good for,
Trying to dry tears that have fallen.
Yet, as I stare forward now,
The hands keep coming back,
Keep pushing against an aching chest
Keep making it so I'm no longer that close;
And I don't know what to do
About being pushed away.

    I love how you seem to make it seem so real here. The start of the poem is amazing. It seems like you have mixed feelings about this and your mind is going crazy. The middle of the poem holds so much sadness here. The details are wonderful and you show how they push you away well. You just want to be embraced and everytime you do that they push you farther and further away. You never know how to feel when being pushed away. But all you can do is stay strong and smile because if they don't want you for you then they are not worth it. Great poem overall for sure.
