Grandma's House was a Magical Place

"Grandma's House was a Magical Place"

Grandma's house was a magical place; drift in
on the stale scent of nostalgia
As sunbeams christen through bay windows
purple violets in textured milk glass

Grandma's house was a magical place; step down
curtsied low spiral staircase to the cellar
where a solitary soul seeks advice
from a high fidelity rotating recording of Helen Reddy

Grandma's house was a magical place; lay back
in grandpa's Lazy Boy recliner
The one with the mahogany swan handles
Next to the steam hot iron radiator

Grandma's house was a magical place; tastes of
Brach's butterscotch candies and Barq's red cream soda
A big wood console Zenith where The Price is Right
never seemed to turn off; white dwarf star point of light

Grandma's house was a magical place....
I'll never forget my grandma's beaming smiling face.

Very nice collection of memories from your Grandma's house. It's always the little things that we remember about our loved ones homes, they comfort us when we miss them.

    Great piece!

Thanks so much! Writing less often these days but they still come to me!
