Freedom

by David Amenger   Nov 20, 2013

Head bowed in despair
With an attitude of fear and shame
Been stripped by the Eyes of many
Anticipating my fatal exit
Family and friends stood helpless in the crowd
The one I love was lost
How did I get this far?
Where did I go wrong?
Reminiscing about my past
Sharp pains reminding me of reality
Evil smiles romancing my face
Just then I was interrupted
By the new sound I here within
A sound with a melody of freedom
Their faces became blurred
As I deny them the taste of my blood
I drew inspiration from the well of survival
As I sing the song I hear
Freedom is my birthright
Not even me can change that
