Howl

by Forever Hers   Nov 22, 2013

Woods surround me, a lack of animals unusual
As I trample through dry leaves and over black dirt,
The night taking over the sky gradually
As the moon rises into the velvet onyx.

With a crack of my neck, I let out a low growl
My blood boiling and coursing through my veins
As the scar illuminates and becomes cold, raised;
The moon taking the form of your face,

I am the beast you created.

My bones come out of their joints and reform into a lengthy body,
My skin turning into a soft fur, its color brown like dried blood,
My teeth extend and sharpen, my tongue running over my muzzle;
I race through the forest as I sense your flesh.

I find you in your cabin, your eyes frightened as I barrel inside,
I growl once more and lunge at you, jaw wide open
As my teeth sink into your skin, ripping chunks off as I enjoy
The taste of your life on my mouth, my paws, my claws digging into you.

After I finish destroying the monster who made me one,
I walk to my cave and climb the cliff beside it,
I stare up into the white light of the moon
And howl in triumph at my kill.
