Destiny of Being Alone

by Sarah   Nov 24, 2013

I walk inside the door,
And feel nothing but the cold.
How did our love evaporate,
Before it was even old?

You fought so hard to get me,
Was it just a challenge for you?
I never claimed to be perfect,
I know that much is true.

Yes I have many scars,
And some of them are real.
That does not mean I'm made of stone,
This shattered heart can still feel.

I know this because it's breaking,
With every second that goes past.
The ticking clock has never
Sounded the minutes by so fast.

All I ever want
Was somewhere to belong.
But I'm unsure if you can hold that weight,
Your safe arms no longer feel strong.

So I sit here on our bed,
In a place I tried to make a home.
The crushing feeling of tomorrow brings
The destiny of being alone.
