Under the Moon's Glow

by Jack Nightengale   Nov 25, 2013

I look to the starry sky in the late night,
Bathing in the full moon's light.
Through destruction and madness,
I find peace within my own malice.

Within my chaos, I find myself in question,
Why am I filled with such rage and aggression?
Why does it feel like like I'm being controlled by strings?
Why couldn't I be a bird or something with wings?

The night grows colder as I find myself in doubt,
Am I alone? Am I the only one that struck out?
Suddenly I feel warm, the harder the winds blow,
I now feel calm under the moon's glow.

I don't know if I would classify this as dark, but I still love it. I think often times people ask some of the very same questions you asked in this poem.

What really caught me though, is the way you described how the night it. I felt like o was there, not to mention it sounded really good when I read it aloud.

You keep this up, I'm not gonna be able to leave comments for being speechless lol. Great job!!
