To the Bitter and the Lonley

by Sarah   Dec 9, 2013

In a bed filled with nails, filled with punctures, filled with thread,
All things leading back to when I remembered all you'd said,
When the questions were unanswered but still stood clearly in my head,
And loneliness was not a thought that filled my chest with lead.

When a moment of emotion could cure my starving heart,
And I still believed morality would set myself apart,
But these seconds are all damaged before they even start,
And the one that stands untouched is nothing less than art.

I give in to the fear I live of a life filled with normality,
To my vain, self protecting, flawed and brittle humanity,
And I fight with every moment to salvage all my dignity,
So that one day it will guide me to some awaiting serenity.

There is a battle within you which has left bitter memories in a lonely heart and behind each line there is a voice that has decided to deal with this circumstance but at the same time the pain as well. Hope that you will be able to find the light one day to clear your dark moment..take care.

I see this poem as a depressed person going through something big. Like something has happened to them and now they cannot deal with life right now. I loved the stanzas imagery you used. I loved the consisanty of the lines. I also like how you put it in the life category because it seems very personal to you. Overall this is a great poem well done. :)
